Albert Antwi-Boasiako

    Albert Antwi-Boasiako is a Cyber Security Expert with the Interpol Global Cybercrime Expert Group (IGCEG) and the Founder of e-Crime Bureau, a cyber security and cyber forensics firm based in Accra, Ghana. He is currently an Expert with the Council of Europe’s Global Action on Cybercrime Extended (GLACY+) Project. He has recently been appointed as the Cyber Security Advisor to the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of Ghana. Albert attended the University of Trento in Italy where he graduated with first class before pursuing his post graduate studies at the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom where he graduated with distinction, receiving overall post-graduate best student award from the School of Computing of the university for his Investigative Project which uncovered emerging trends of fraud on e-commerce platforms. Prior to Founding e-Crime Bureau in Ghana, Albert was responsible for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) Market of DFLabs, a global cyber security firm based in Milan, Italy. Albert is currently a PhD Research Fellow with the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
    Albert has a broad knowledge and professional experience in cyber security and cyber forensics having consulted for a number of organizations across various sectors – particularly government, banking & finance, telecommunications, law enforcement/security and international organizations. Apart from pioneering private-sector led cyber security and digital forensics best practices and initiatives in Ghana and the sub-region, Albert has provided consulting services to a number of institutions in the area of cyber security & forensics, cyber forensics technology support, policy development and implementation and training among others.
    Albert has previously provided consulting and research support for a number of international and local organizations including the United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime (UNODC), United Nations Conference on Trade & Development (UNCTAD), Commonwealth Cybercrime Initiative (CCI) of the Commonwealth Secretariat, Global Commission on Internet Governance (GCIG)/Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) and the Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA), the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), selected financial and telecommunication institutions in Ghana among others.
    Albert is currently engaged in the following teaching and research roles:
  • Visiting Lecturer – Cybercrimes, Cyberterrorism & Cyber Security, Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), Accra, Ghana.
  • Adjunct Lecturer – Cybercrime, Cyberterrorism & Digital Forensics, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana.
  • Research Associate, African Centre for Cyberlaw & Cybercrime Prevention (ACCP), Kampala, Uganda.
  • Faculty Member, Ghana Police Command & Staff College (GPCSC), Winneba, Ghana.
    Albert has a number of publications covering information technology, cybercrimes, data protection, digital forensics and cyber security to his credit. In addition, he has delivered presentations and papers at major local, regional and international conferences and workshops.
